Immerse yourself in the language and culture of Quito!
Located in the heart of the historic center of Quito, Equinox Spanish School is one of the oldest Spanish immersion schools in Ecuador. Learn from some of the best professors in the city, in a colonial mansion complete with library and basement chapel. Stay with a family or book private accommodations, and spend your free time exploring the sierra.
Our lessons are focused on speaking and listening, supported by explanation of grammar and vocabulary building. Each student is different, but beginning from 0, it takes approximately 80 course hours of immersive instruction reach an A2 level, and another 80 to reach B1 fluency. Each level can be achieved in a month of 4 hr per day instruction, 3 weeks of somewhat intensive study, or 2 weeks of hardcore nose in the books. Each level represents 1 average year of school study.

Besides being a great place to study, Ecuador is a phenomenal country to explore. Whether you're most interested in history and culture, wildlife, adventure sports, or hiking, your free time will be well spent.
The Spanish spoken in the Sierra of Ecuador is fairly slow compared to other regions in Latin America, and while we do have some peculiarities (including words from Quichua!) Quiteño Spanish has less slang than many other dialects. The hustle and bustle of the city, many activities, and opportunity to live with a family will give you plenty of chances to practice.
Pricing
Our courses are priced based on $10 per lesson hour for 1 student or $8 per lesson hour for 2 or more students. Homestay is $20 per day, and includes breakfast and dinner. The private apartment options are $180 per week (1 bedroom, sleeps 2) or $220 per week (2 bedroom, sleeps 3-4). Rooms in the mansion range from $20-$60 dollars per night.
